Welcome to
St Dunstan's

Welcome to the parish of Monks Risborough with Owlswick.  Whoever you are, you are very welcome here.

We are a Christian community in the heart of Buckinghamshire, drawn together by the love of Jesus Christ, and looking to share His love throughout our local community. We don’t always get it right, but we do our best, and find God’s love and grace when we stumble.

Whether you’re exploring faith for the first time or looking for a church you can call home, whether you’re looking to be part of a community or are just curious, you are very welcome.

Revised Covid News

Services with smaller congregations

We have many services where is a smaller congregation and no singing: every Thursday at 9.30 am, first Sunday of the month at 8.00 am, and the second Sunday at Owlswick at 9.00 am.

Please do not attend services if you feel unwell or if you have symptoms of COVID-19.

Bell Ringing at St Dunstan’s

Following the relaxation of restrictions related to the pandemic, we are once again able to ring the church bells at St Dunstan’s. The bells will be rung prior to the 10.00 am service on Sundays, and for practice between 7.30 and 9.00 pm on Thursday evenings.

We will endeavour to also give notice here of any additional occasions when the bells will be rung prior to a special service.

Lent Study Groups

We will have two weekly study groups running through Lent: one on Wednesday mornings (11.00 am to 12.30 pm), and another on Wednesday evenings (7.00 pm to 8.30 pm), both starting on 1st March, to be held in the Hall. At these groups we will be considering the wonderful little book ‘The Merciful Humility of God,’ by Jane Williams. The book is both straightforward and accessible, and profoundly rich in Christian thought; it is therefore perfect for everyone, whether you have read lots of this sort of thing, or it is your first time. The book is divided into five small chapters, and we shall consider one chapter each week. You can order a copy yourself, or else ask Peter to put you down for a copy which he will order from St Andrew’s Bookshop in Great Missenden (priced at £7.99). To give us an idea of how many people intend to come, you can sign up to be part of one of the groups by emailing Peter at revpetergodden@outlook.com.

Annual Parochial Church Meetings

The Annual Meeting of Parishioners, and the Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM), was held in St Dunstan’s Church on Sunday 5th March at 3.45 pm.

To view or download the Parish’s Annual Report and Annual Accounts for the Year 2022, which will be received at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting, click the button.

St Dunstan’s Church is now open daily
from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm

The church may be closed to visitors occasionally, for example, during music practice.
