Special Services at St Dunstan's Church

The final acts of remembrance and commitment to peace on the 11th day of each month to mark the 100th anniversary of World War One will take place on October 11th at 11 am and on November 11th beginning at 10.55 am at the War Memorial on the corner of Mill Lane. On each occasion a single bell will be tolled 100 times beforehand at St. Dunstan's.

'Time to Remember' Service, Sunday November 4th 3.00 pm: This service contains well-known hymns and prayers as we cherish the memories of those we love but see no longer. The names of individuals whom we wish to remember can be added to a list in church and will be read out as part of the service. Everyone is welcome to stay for refreshments in the Church Hall afterwards.

Remembrance Sunday, November 11th at 10.00 am: This service provides another time to remember those who have given and continue to give their lives in the service of others and includes the laying of wreaths. This is followed by an Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial on the corner of Mill Lane/Aylesbury at 10.55 am. If there are any village organisations that would like to lay a wreath on behalf of their members please contact James. There is also a service of Holy Communion at 11.30 am at Owlswick on this day.

Christingle Service, December 2nd at 10.00 am: A family friendly service for all ages without Holy Communion. The Christingle is an orange with a candle, red ribbon and sweets that is used to tell people about God's love for the world. It is also the symbol used by the Children's Society in promoting its work to help young people who are disadvantaged or abused. Please come along to join in the fun and receive a Christingle orange as part of the celebration.
